Hasbro, Inc. and Zynga have united to turn Zynga’s computer games into a variety of toy and game products—starting with Cityville, Farmville, and Words with Friends. Through the agreement Hasbro gets the license to develop and distribute various toys and games based upon Zynga’s games.

In addition, Hasbro and Zynga can both develop co-branded merchandise featuring a combination of both Hasbro and Zynga brands. The first products are expected to be available in Fall 2012, including Cityville Monopoly, Hungry Hungy Herd, and Words with Friends. Cityville Monopoly.

Here’s a brief description of each:

Cityville Monopoly
Easily the most creatinve and interesting of the newly announced products, Cityville Monopoly lets up to 4 mayors become the first one to build 4 skyscrapers. In addition, you’ll get to buy and build various locations from the Zynga Cityville game, such as train stations, the toy shop, and the bakery. In addition, you can use stackable buildings to build up your city, and give Mystery Gifts to decorate neighborhoods and (perhaps most importantly) increase your rent value.

Farmville Hungry Hungry Herd
OK, seriously, it’s Hungry Hungry Hippos, but instead of Hippos you get a cow, horse, sheep, and a pig. It features the same compelling game play as the original, where you rabidly and loudly smash a lever and try to gobble up marbles. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Words with Friends / Words with Friends Luxe / Words with Friends to Go
Words with Friends will be released in 3 versions, each of them offering the same game play made popular by Hasbro’s Scrabble, but each in a different form factor. Words with Friends is the standard version of the game and includes a full-size board, four curved tile racks, tile bag and 104 tiles.

Words with Friends Luxe adds a fancier, rotating board to the standard package, and even comes with a convenient dock for a mobile device (so you can cheat with a dictionary app).

Words with Friends to Go is a portable version of the game (it comes with a carrying case) and is suitable for airports, coffee shops and the like.
